Free help
Ask us. It costs nothing, and it always will.
Whether you are starting an application, stuck partway through, or were turned down and do not know what to do next — get in touch. There is no fee, no contract, and no percentage.
How to reach us
Email is the best way to reach us right now. We are a small, new organisation, so please allow a few days for a reply — and please do tell us if your situation is time-sensitive, such as a CRA deadline.
Zero Cut Tax Disability Society · Coquitlam, British Columbia · We help people across Canada.
Tell us your situation in your own words. We will only ask for documents if and when they are genuinely needed, and we will tell you why. You control what you share with us, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. See our privacy commitments.
What helps us help you
None of this is required to get in touch — write to us with whatever you have. But if you already know these, it saves a round trip:
- Whether the application is for you or for someone you support
- Roughly when the impairment began, and whether it has lasted or is expected to last at least 12 months
- Which parts of daily life are most affected — walking, dressing, feeding, mental functions, hearing, speaking, vision, elimination, or life-sustaining therapy
- Whether you have applied before, and what the CRA said
- Whether you already have a medical practitioner who knows your situation well
- Whether you have signed anything with a fee-charging firm
What we do
We can
- Explain the credit and what it could be worth in your case
- Help you understand and prepare the CRA application
- Help you describe your impairment accurately and completely
- Help you ask for retroactive years
- Help you understand a refusal and your review options
- Point you to the official CRA source for anything we are unsure about
We cannot
- Guarantee approval — only the CRA determines eligibility
- Give tax, legal, or medical advice
- Complete Part B of the form — that is your medical practitioner’s to certify
- Make the CRA move faster than it does
- Take a percentage of your refund, because we never will
